National Bureau of Soil Survey & Land Use Planning (NBSSLUP) 

National Bureau of Soil Survey & Land Use Planning (NBSSLUP) has invited applications from eligible and intending candidates to recruit 2 Junior Research Fellows and Project Assistant Vacancies for the project “Process-based modeling for predictive mapping of climate change impact on the performance of tea and climate-smart zone based adaptation strategies in Terai-Dooars and Darjeeling region of India.”

1. Junior Research Fellow

No. of posts: 1

Essential Qualification: Post Graduate in Agricultural Sciences/ Geoinformatics/ Geography/

Engineering/Technology/Statistics with specialization in RS & GIS-related works.

Desirable Qualification:

• Knowledge in the application of geospatial modeling in natural resource mapping and management, crop (preferably Tea) mapping and yield forecasting, climate change related models.
• Working experience in GIS softwares/ Google Earth engine/ R programming/ Python language/ other soil-crop modelling softwares as evidenced from publications with good report writing skill.

Emoluments:

• (i) Rs.20,000/- + 24% HRA p.m. for 1st year and 2nd year.
• (ii) Rs.22,000/- + HRA 24% p.m. for 3rd year.

2. Project Assistant

No. of posts: 1

Essential Qualification: Graduate in Soil Sciences / Agricultural chemistry or related branch of Agricultural/ Horticultural sciences with specialization in Soil related works.

Desirable Qualification:

• Knowledge in Soil science, natural resource mapping and management, soil and crop based
• survey, (preferably Tea) and laboratory analysis of soil properties.
• Working experience in soil-crop based field data collection, soil lab analysis, data entry with good report writing skill.

Emoluments: Rs. 15,000/- + 8% HRA p.m.

Age Limit for NBSSLUP Recruitment 2024

Minimum age limit is 21 years and maximum age limit is 45 years for men, 50 years for women/ SC/ ST/Physically challenged and 48 years for OBC candidate on the date of interview.
