Directorate
of Technical Education (DTE), Assam has released the official
notification of Polytechnic Admission 2024. Intending and
eligible candidates may apply online here for admission
into Diploma Courses in the following State Government Polytechnics of
Assam for the session 2024–2025.
No. of seats
in State Government Polytechnics are 4425 seats for 22 Nos. of different
Diploma programmes.

As
per the official notification, there will be no Polytechnic Admission
Test (PAT) from the session 2024-25 onwards. Admission into the
various polytechnic courses under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE),
Assam, will be based on the marks obtained in the HSLC Exam with
Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. More details is here .
Eligibility Criteria of Assam Polytechnic Admission
Resident-ship: Candidates must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent
resident of Assam. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) must be produced at the
time of Counseling. He/she may be allowed to take provisional admission on
production of PRC Application Receipt and submission of undertaking regarding
submission of final PRC within 60 days. If the candidate fails to submit the
PRC within stipulated time, his/her seat will be cancelled.
Educational Qualification: Candidate
must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination in single sitting with
Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. Candidates also must have
passed individually in both Theory and Practical examinations in Mathematics
and Science.

Application Fee of Polytechnic Admission
Application
Fee: The application fee of Assam Polytechnic Admission is Rs 300/-
plus bank charges as applicable.
Payment Mode:
Online: Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking .
Offline: Through Cash Deposit form from State Bank Collect in
final step of Online Application.

Intending
and eligible candidates who are permanent citizen of Assam may follow below
mentioned steps to apply online for admission into Diploma Courses in the
following State Government Polytechnics of Assam for the session 2024-2025.
Documents Required for Assam
Polytechnic Admission
Interested candidates are requested to keep ready following documents.
Permanent residents certificate [P.R.C.]
Caste certificate for all candidates except Un-reserved Category.
Non-creamy layer certificate - for OBC/MOBC and also six communities under
OBC/MOBC.
Grandsons/grand-daughters of freedom fighter: Certificate issued by
from the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister or from Home and
Political Department and relationship certificate from concerned Deputy Commissioner.
Son/daughter of retired defense person: certificate from the
Director, Rajyik Sainik Board, Assam.
Son/daughter of central government employees: P.R.C.- from the
concerned state authority outside Assam and service certificate of father/mother
from the concerned authority located in Assam.
Physically Handicapped ( PH)/ Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Identity
Card for differently abled issued by the Social Welfare Department, Assam.
Economically Weaker Sections [EWSs]: Valid E.W.S. Certificate.
Tuition Fee Waiver [TFW]: Annual Income Certificate issued by the
authority not below the rank of Revenue Circle Officer.
Sports quota: Certificate from the Directorate of Sports and Youth
Welfare, Assam.
