The Government of Assam has taken a progressive step to empower its youth with the launch of the Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana under the Astadash Mukutar Unnoyonee Mala initiative. Announced as a part of the Assam Budget 2025–2026, this scheme is aimed at providing financial stability and encouragement to young graduates during their job-search period. With an allocation of ₹25 crore, the scheme is scheduled to be launched in October 2025.

Monthly Financial Support: Graduates passing out in 2025 from government universities and colleges in Assam will receive ₹2,500 per month for a duration of up to one year to support them as they seek employment.

One-time Assistance Option: On the recommendation of the District Commissioner (DC), eligible candidates can opt for a one-time financial assistance of ₹25,000 instead of the monthly disbursements.

Support for Research Scholars:

A one-time grant of ₹25,000 will be provided to research scholars from state and central government universities, regardless of gender.
Special assistance of ₹50,000 is earmarked for Divyang (differently-abled) research scholars, ensuring inclusivity in academic and research pursuits.
