SAMARTH Admission Portal

The Government of Assam has introduced the SAMARTH Admission Portal, a unified online platform designed to streamline the admission process for undergraduate programs across all state universities and government-aided higher education institutions. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aiming to simplify and digitize admissions for courses such as Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), and Bachelor of Science (BSc). 

Students will get six options for program selection either in the same Higher Educational Institution (University/Colleges) or in different Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) (University/Colleges).

“Samarth” is an initiative by the Ministry of Education started in 2019, under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology NMEICT-II (now NMEICT-III), with an aim to enable the universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through a digital framework for planning, management, delivery, and monitoring of services for students, staff, and other stakeholders. Under the project, the HEIs are provided with a fully managed, cloud based, comprehensive ERP that is custom built for HEIs of the country.

SAMARTH Admission Portal

The students aspiring to take admissions in all the government and aided colleges of Assam and universities can now use this integrated admission platform called Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal  to get admitted in the desired course and institution. Students would now not have to move from place to place for submitting admission forms. 

Further, the students registering themselves in the portal can apply in ten colleges of his/ her choice. The admission would be given in the college and course of the choice of the student on the basis of merit. Apart from being convenient the portal would also save the money of the students.

How to Apply for Assam College Admission?

The students who have passed Higher Secondary final examination now have to apply online through Samarth Portal for Bachelor Degree courses. 

Once, online application process is over, students can take admission in his college of choice as per merit list. The Samarth Online Admission Process has been elaborated below.

Step-by-Step Application Process

To apply for undergraduate programs via the SAMARTH Admission Portal, the students may follow these steps:

1. Registration:
   • Visit the official portal at assamadmission.samarth.ac.in.
   • Click on the ‘Register’ button and provide the required personal details to create an account.
2. Profile Completion:
   • Log in with your credentials.
   • Complete your profile by entering personal information, educational qualifications, and contact details.
3. Document Upload:
   • Upload scanned copies of necessary documents, including:
     • Recent passport-sized photograph
     • Signature
     • High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) mark sheets and certificates
     • Caste certificate (if applicable)
     • Bank passbook
4. Program Selection:
   • Choose up to ten programs or institutions based on your preferences.
5. Application Submission:
   • Review your application to ensure all information is accurate.
   • Submit the application and note the acknowledgment receipt for future reference.
6. Admission Confirmation:
   • Monitor the portal for merit list announcements.
   • Once selected, confirm your admission by following the instructions provided.
