CPCB Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 51 Posts

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has invited online applications for the recruitment of 51 contractual posts in 2026 under the Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER)-Phase-III Project on River Ganga.

The project is funded by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Namami Gange Programme. Selected candidates may be posted at the CPCB Head Office, Delhi, or Regional Directorates at Lucknow, Kolkata and Chandigarh.

Interested and eligible candidates can submit their online applications from 24 August 2026, 10:00 AM to 07 September 2026, 11:59 PM.

CPCB Post-Wise Eligibility Criteria

1. Scientist-D

Vacancy: 01
Upper Age Limit: 50 years
Salary: Rs. 1,71,597/- per month

Essential Qualification:

Candidates should possess:

• First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science or Natural Science,

OR

• First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Energy and Environment or Biotechnology.

Candidates must also meet the publication or technical report requirements mentioned in the official advertisement, including one of the following:

• Cumulative impact factor of published journal papers of at least 10; or
• Minimum five books/edited book chapters published by recognised national or international publishers with an established peer-review system and ISBN; or
• Minimum five technical reports published by CPCB or State Pollution Control Boards.

Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant practical experience in areas such as prevention and control of river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management and environmental management.

2. Scientist-C

Vacancy: 08
Upper Age Limit: 45 years
Salary: Rs. 1,48,997/- per month

Candidates should possess a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering/Technology disciplines.

Applicants must also fulfil the publication, book chapter or technical report requirements specified in the detailed notification.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant practical experience in river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management or environmental management.

3. Scientist-B

Vacancy: 12
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Salary: Rs. 1,25,380/- per month

Qualification:

• First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science,

OR

• First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Energy and Environment or Biotechnology.

Candidates must also have:

• A valid GATE score with 90% or above percentile, or
• NET-JRF qualification.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant research or teaching experience may also be considered.

4. Assistant Manager (Finance)

Vacancy: 03
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Salary: Rs. 1,19,272/- per month

Qualification:

• First Class Master’s Degree in Commerce with Finance & Accounting or Taxation,
• Chartered Accountant,

OR

• MBA in Finance & Accounting.

Experience: Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.

Candidates should also have knowledge or experience in areas such as:

• MS Word and Excel,
• Spreadsheet and database packages,
• Taxation,
• Tally and QuickBooks,
• TDS, GST, PF, ESI and STPI-related work,
• Payroll preparation and management.

5. Administrative Assistant

Vacancy: 01
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Salary: Rs. 77,654/- per month

Qualification:

• First Class Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of computers.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of post-qualification administrative experience, preferably in Government, PSU or Autonomous Bodies in the relevant area.

Candidates must also pass a skill test based on noting and drafting.

Desirable Qualification: First Class Postgraduate Degree.

6. Scientific Assistant

Vacancy: 13
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Salary: Rs. 77,654/- per month

Candidates should possess:

• First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science or Natural Science,

OR

• First Class Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering/Technology disciplines.

They must also have:

• Valid GATE score with 90% or above percentile, or
• NET-JRF qualification.

7. Taxonomist

Vacancy: 01
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Salary: Rs. 65,031/- per month

Essential Qualification: First Class M.Sc.

Desirable Qualification:

Master’s Degree in Botany or Zoology with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent.

Candidates must also fulfil the GATE/NET-JRF and publication, book chapter or technical report requirements as specified in the detailed advertisement.

8. Data Entry Operator

Vacancy: 04
Upper Age Limit: 32 years
Salary: Rs. 57,498/- per month

Qualification:

• First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Science or BCA.

Candidates must pass a skill test in:

• MS Word,
• MS Excel,
• MS PowerPoint,
• English typing speed of 45 words per minute,
• Hindi typing speed of 35 words per minute.

9. Field Assistant

Vacancy: 08
Upper Age Limit: 27 years
Salary: Rs. 38,741/- per month

Qualification:

• Passed 10+2 in Science with a minimum of 55% marks.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and sample preservation.
