Assam HS Admission 2026 – Apply Online for HS 1st Year (2026–27) @DARPAN Portal

The Assam State School Education Board (formerly AHSEC) has officially announced the HS 1st Year Admission 2026–27 process through the DARPAN Portal.

Students who passed HSLC can now apply online for admission into Higher Secondary (HS) First Year in colleges and schools across Assam.

The online application process will begin from 12 April 2026.

The DARPAN portal is the official platform used by ASSEB to manage HS admissions across Assam.

How to Apply at Darpan Portal

Follow these steps to apply online:

Visit the official DARPAN portal
Register using mobile number
Fill in personal & academic details
Select up to 5 institutions
Submit the application
Wait for selection list

Selection & Admission Process

Institutions will prepare Merit List & Waiting List
Selection list will be available online + SMS alert
Students can accept only ONE institution
After acceptance, visit institution for document verification
Final admission must be confirmed online by the institution

You can apply to maximum 5 colleges/schools
Profile can be edited only once
Must accept admission within deadline
No acceptance = removal from selection list
Unique mobile number required
Gap certificate is not required anymore

Must prepare and upload merit list on portal
Physical document verification is mandatory
Admission must be confirmed before 08 May 2026
Late confirmation penalty: ₹5000 per day
Cannot enroll students without consent
Must update stream/subject changes in portal

DARPAN ASSEB Merit List 2026

The students will get seats in the schools/colleges according to their performance in the Assam HSLC Examination, 2026 in their application submitted schools/colleges. A student will be able to submit his/her application to multiple institutions for admission. The institute wise merit list of selected students will be published on the same portal a few days after the application process is over. Till now, council has not confirmed the date of release of merit list. After the release of the merit list, students will have to go to the DARPAN Portal and select the school/college of their choice. Note that Institute selection is a one-time and irreversible process so all of you are advised to proceed with caution. Also, students can change their subjects as per their wish with the help of their respective institutes.

How to Check Darpan Admission Merit List?

The Students who have already submit their application form in online mode in Darpan Portal for admission into HS 1st year under Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) Division II (Formerly AHSEC) will be able to check their names in the merit list after the release in Official Website of DARPAN. The merit list will be prepared by the colleges and schools on the basis of their performance in the HSLC/AHM examination. The authority of ASSEB has asked all the institution under it to prepare the merit list within the stipulated time period and published it. After that the students will be able to check it by login on the portal. Students may follow these steps to get their merit list.

Go to the official Admission Portal of DARPAN.
Click on the Students Corner link.
Now enter your Mobile Number, Date of Birth, Security PIN and click Login.
After that a dashboard will open. Click on Application Submitted button.
Now, you will see the names of all your application submitted colleges/schools.
Check below the name of the college/school, you will get the details about your admission request.
If you are selected, click on the Accept Admission Request link and accept your admission in the desired college/school.
