Desirable Skills & Experience (Applicable to All Posts)
- Minimum 1 year experience in biodiversity-related work
- Knowledge of flora & fauna identification
- Experience in field surveys, data collection, and monitoring

Scope of Work
Project Assistant (ABS)
- Assist in processing Prior Intimation Applications (PIA) and drafting MAT agreements
- Collect and update data on tradable bioresources and NTFPs
- Field surveys, PRA, FGDs, and interaction with BMCs
- Coordination with bioresource-based industries
- Assist in ABS awareness activities and stakeholder meetings
- Any other work assigned by ASBB
Project Assistant (Research)
- Collection and compilation of data on floral, faunal, and microbial diversity
- Preparation of biodiversity checklists and photographic documentation
- Compilation of research works in biotechnology/microbiology
- Assist in preparation of Biodiversity Compendium of Assam
- Digital PBR data entry
- Other tasks assigned by ASBB

About Assam State Biodiversity Board Internship
The Assam State Biodiversity Board was constituted under the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 and Assam Biodiversity Rules, 2010 to promote conservation, sustainable use, and documentation of biodiversity in Assam.
As per Section 41 of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002, local bodies must prepare People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBRs). Currently, Assam has 2549 Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs), and all PBRs are undergoing quality updation as per the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) Guidelines 2020.
To support this work and align with NEP 2020 mandatory internship requirements, ASBB is engaging students as Biodiversity Interns.

- Collect and digitize biodiversity data
- Prepare PBR data in MS-Excel exportable format
- Support linking of PBRs with Digital PBR Database
Desirable Skills

- Familiarity with local ecosystems
- Good communication skills (English & Assamese)
