Educational & Professional Qualifications

1. Master’s Degree: Post Graduation in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks (or equivalent) from a recognized University.
2. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.): Candidate must possess a B.Ed. degree from an institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
3. Degree Level Subject: Candidate must have studied the same subject as one of the subjects at the Bachelor’s degree level.
4. Valid Degrees: Degrees obtained through off-campus distance education are invalid, except for degrees conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL (Gauhati University), and Distance Education (Dibrugarh University).
5. Medium of Instruction:
   • Assamese Medium: Passed HSLC or equivalent with Assamese, or holds a diploma from Axom Sahitya Sabha, or studied up to HSLC in Assamese medium.
   • Bengali Medium: Passed HSLC or equivalent with Bengali, or holds a diploma from Barak Upatyaka Bangya Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan, or studied up to HSLC in Bengali medium.
   • Hindi Medium: Passed HSLC or equivalent with Hindi, or studied up to HSLC in Hindi medium.
   • Bodo Medium: Passed HSLC or equivalent with Bodo, or holds a diploma from Bodoland University, or studied up to HSLC in Bodo medium.
   • English Medium: Passed HSLC or equivalent with Alternative English, or read from Class XI onwards in English medium.

7. Selection Process

Selection for the Post Graduate Teacher positions will be conducted through a single written evaluation followed by weightage marks and document verification:

1. TET cum Recruitment Test (140 Marks):
   • Pedagogy: 50 Marks
   • About Assam and its People: 50 Marks
   • General English: 30 Marks
   • General Studies & Current Affairs: 10 Marks
2. Co-Curricular & Special Weightage:
   • NCC Certificates: 5 marks for ‘C’ Certificate, 3 marks for ‘B’ Certificate.
   • Sports: 5 marks for representing Assam at the National Level in recognized sports.
   • Fine Arts & Culture: 5 marks for representing the state officially at the National Level.
   • Higher Secondary TET Weightage: Up to 5% of TET marks (maximum 5 marks) for previously passed HS TET candidates.
   • BTC Contractual Teacher Weightage: 5 additional marks for candidates who served on a 6-month contractual basis in 2025 in Mathematics/Science under BTC.
