Project Area
The selected candidate will work with the Health Technology Assessment in India – Regional Resource Centre (HTAIn-RRC). The Centre works in areas including public health, health economics, technology evaluation, cost-effectiveness analysis, systematic reviews and evidence-informed healthcare decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
The selected Scientist C/Research Officer will be responsible for:
- Planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring HTA projects.
- Conducting systematic reviews, meta-analyses, network meta-analyses and evidence synthesis.
- Critically appraising scientific literature using internationally accepted methodologies.
- Collecting, validating, analysing and interpreting clinical, epidemiological, quality-of-life, costing and health resource utilization data.
- Contributing to health economic evaluations, including cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, cost-benefit analysis and budget impact analysis.
- Preparing study protocols, statistical analysis plans, ethics submissions, technical documents and project reports.
- Preparing technical reports, policy briefs, evidence summaries, manuscripts and presentations.
- Coordinating with State Health Departments, Medical Colleges, Government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Supporting multicentric research projects, capacity-building programmes and stakeholder consultations.
- Organizing workshops, training programmes, meetings and expert consultations.
- Monitoring project timelines, milestones, deliverables, budgets and documentation.
- Presenting research findings at review meetings, conferences and national/international forums.
- Assisting in grant writing, proposal development and funding applications.
- Maintaining project records, databases and other research documentation.
Eligibility for Scientist C
The eligibility criteria are divided into Medical and Non-Medical categories.
Medical Candidates
Candidates should possess any of the following:
- MBBS/BVSc/BDS degree with 3 years of relevant experience; or
- MBBS/BVSc/BDS degree with PhD/MPH; or
- MBBS/BVSc/BDS degree with a postgraduate degree.
Candidates must also have at least two research publications as first or corresponding author in SCI-indexed journals or Scopus Q1 journals.
Non-Medical Candidates
Candidates should possess:
- Postgraduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, in relevant subjects such as Public Health, Health Economics, Health Technology Assessment, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science or other related disciplines, with 3 years of post-qualification experience; or
- PhD in a relevant discipline.
Candidates must also have at least two research publications as first or corresponding author in SCI-indexed journals or Scopus Q1 journals.
Desirable Qualifications
The following will be desirable:
- Doctorate/MD/PhD in relevant subjects such as Community Medicine, Preventive & Social Medicine, Pediatrics, Medicine, Tropical Medicine, Family Medicine, Epidemiology or Public Health.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
- Knowledge of statistical/programming tools such as R and Python.

Job Responsibilities
The selected Research Assistant will:
- Work as an integral member of the CHSI 2.0 project team.
- Coordinate with the Principal Investigator, Co-investigators, DHR, PGIMER Chandigarh and other stakeholders.
- Collect data from hospital departments, including clinical, administrative, financial, human resource, equipment, consumables and infrastructure-related data.
- Perform data entry, verification, validation, cleaning and maintenance of project databases.
- Assist in data compilation, analysis and preparation of reports.
- Coordinate with hospital departments for retrieving records and relevant project information.
- Undertake field visits within and outside AIIMS Guwahati and different districts of Assam.
- Participate in monitoring, quality assurance, internal audits and data validation exercises.
- Participate in training programmes, workshops and project review meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of project data.
- Maintain project documentation and submit progress reports.

Preference may be given to candidates having:
- Three research publications in SCI journals, including at least one as first author/corresponding author.
- Experience in Health Technology Assessment.
- Experience in cost-effectiveness analysis or economic evaluation.
- Public health or social science experience.
- One year of experience in a Government-funded project.
- Knowledge of data management and biostatistics.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, R and SPSS.
