The Assam State Space Application Centre (ASSAC) has invited application the recruitment of 6 Project Scientist posts on a contractual basis, initially for a period of 11 months. Interested and eligible candidates may apply through the walk-in process.

1. Project Scientist

No. of Posts: 02 (Agriculture Assessment and Fisheries Resource Mapping)
Remuneration: Rs. 30,000 + Employer’s CPF Contribution per month

Essential Qualification:

M.Tech / M.E. / MCA / M.Sc. in Remote Sensing / Remote Sensing & GIS / Geoinformatics / Computer Science / IT or equivalent,
OR
B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering / IT / Geoinformatics / Geomatics or equivalent with suitable experience.

Desirable:

Experience in Spatial Decision Support Systems, SDI, LBS, Big Data Analytics, Geospatial Dashboards.
Mobile App & Web Portal development, GeoServer/Map Server, AI/ML/DL applications, IoT-based applications.
Programming skills in C++/Java/Python/R, JavaScript.
Knowledge of Hadoop, Apache Web Server, IIS, Open Layers, Leaflet, PostGIS, XML, ArcGIS Arcade, etc.

Maximum Age (as on 01.01.2025): 35 years

3. Project Scientist

No. of Posts: 01 (Agro-forestry Site Suitability & Tree Carbon Estimation using Satellite Data)
Remuneration: Rs. 30,000 + Employer’s CPF Contribution per month

Essential Qualification:

1st Class Master’s Degree in Forestry/Botany (specialization in Taxonomy/Ecology) with PG training in Remote Sensing/Geoinformatics, OR
M.Tech in Geoinformatics / Remote Sensing & GIS / Spatial Information Science / Geospatial Technology or equivalent with experience in Forestry & Ecological Studies.

Desirable:

Experience in Remote Sensing & GIS applications in Forestry and Ecology.

Maximum Age (as on 01.01.2025): 35 years

4. Project Scientist

No. of Posts: 01 (Border Monitoring, LULC Change Analysis & Geo-analytics using Satellite Data & AI)
Remuneration: Rs. 54,000 + Employer’s CPF Contribution per month

Essential Qualification:

1st Class M.Sc./M.Tech in Geoinformatics / Remote Sensing & GIS / Spatial Information Science / Geospatial Technology or equivalent,
OR
1st Class B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geoinformatics,
OR
1st Class M.Sc. in Geography/Earth Science with Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geoinformatics or equivalent.

Desirable:

Satellite data processing (Sentinel-1 SAR, Sentinel-2 optical).
Knowledge of QGIS, ArcGIS, SNAP, ERDAS, ENVI.
Google Earth Engine (GEE) for satellite data analysis.
Scripting in Python / JavaScript.
AI/ML-based geospatial tools for change detection/classification.
Experience in Web GIS / Geo Web Portals.
