Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat Age Limit
The applicant must be not less than 21 years and not more than 40 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
The upper age limit is relaxable as follows:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
The age of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the School/Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council/School or other applicable Government document.
Educational Qualification
Hindi Reporter
Candidates applying for the post of Hindi Reporter must fulfil the following eligibility conditions:
- The candidate must possess a Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- The candidate should possess a Diploma in Hindi Stenography with a qualifying speed of 80 words per minute, along with DTP typewriting (Hindi) from a recognized institution.
- The candidate must have a 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
- The candidate must have sound knowledge of Assamese and English language.
- Candidates having knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning will be given preference.
Hindi Translator
For the post of Hindi Translator, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized University with Hindi as one of the subjects in the course.
- Sound knowledge of Assamese and English literature.
- A 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
- Knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning or reporting in Hindi newspapers will be preferred.
Bengali Translator
Candidates applying for Bengali Translator should possess:
- A Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with Bengali as one of the subjects in the course.
- Sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Bengali literature.
- A 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
- Knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning or reporting in Bengali newspapers will be given preference.
Karbi Translator
For the Karbi Translator post, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- Sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Karbi language/literature.
- A 6-month Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application.
