Auniati University, Kaliapani, Teok, Jorhat, Assam, has released an Employment Notification inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor in various academic departments.

Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications on or before 25 July 2026. The selection process will include academic credentials, a personal interview and a teaching demonstration. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess the qualifications prescribed under the applicable UGC norms for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor in the relevant discipline.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline. Candidates pursuing a Ph.D. may also be considered based on their academic merit and the requirements of the University.

Preference will also be given to experienced teachers having:

• At least one year of teaching experience at the University level, or
• Five years of teaching experience at a recognized college.

Candidates are advised to check the prescribed UGC qualifications applicable to their respective subject before applying.

Performing Arts Specializations

The Assistant Professor posts in the Department of Performing Arts are available in the following specializations:

1. Satriya & Indian Classical Dance – 1 Post

Candidates should have specialization in Satriya Dance, with proficiency in one or more Indian classical and/or traditional dance forms. Preference will be given to candidates who are recipients of national awards.

2. Satriya Dance with Vocal – 1 Post

Candidates should have specialization in pure Satriya Dance, with a strong traditional Satriya background and demonstrated expertise in Satriya Vocal Music. Candidates should possess competence in devotional repertoire, stage performance and practical training in the Satriya tradition.

3. Instrument – 1 Post

Candidates should have specialization in Khol, with demonstrated competence in performance, pedagogy and the traditional Satriya repertoire.

4. Drama & Vocal – 1 Post

Candidates should have specialization in Satriya Bhaona and Modern Drama, with expertise in acting, direction, script interpretation, stagecraft, theatrical production, performance and vocal presentation. Candidates having additional experience in folk music and folk dance will be preferred.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the Assistant Professor posts will be based on:

1. Academic qualifications and credentials;
2. Personal Interview; and
3. Teaching Demonstration (Demo Class).

Every candidate will be required to deliver a Demo Class of at least five minutes before the Selection Committee. The teaching demonstration will be an integral part of the selection process.
