BSF Paramedical Vacancy 2026: Apply for Assistant Sub Inspector & Head Constable Posts

The Directorate General, Border Security Force (BSF), Medical Directorate, Ministry of Home Affairs, has invited nominations from eligible personnel for filling up Group ‘C’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) combatised posts in the BSF Paramedical Set-Up on deputation, including short-term contract, and promotion basis.

A total of 3 posts are available for Assistant Sub Inspector (Electrician), Assistant Sub Inspector (Air Conditioner Plant Technician) and Head Constable (Dresser).

The posts are to be filled on an urgent basis, and nominations of eligible candidates may be forwarded in the prescribed format along with the required documents.

1. Assistant Sub Inspector (Electrician)

Vacancy: 01 Post
Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-5, ₹29,200–92,300

Eligibility

Candidates should be Officers of Central Armed Police Forces or Central Government/State Government/Union Territories who satisfy the prescribed conditions.

The candidate should:

Hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
Have five years of regular service in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix (₹25,500–81,100) in the parent cadre or department; and
Possess the following educational qualifications:
- 12th Class passed from a recognized Board; and
- Diploma course of minimum one year duration in Electrician’s Trade from an institution recognized by the Central Government, State Government or Industrial Training Institute; and
- Minimum five years’ experience as Electrician in a minimum hundred-bedded hospital or institute recognized by the Central Government or any State Government.

The candidate shall be medically fit in all respects.

Departmental Candidates

A departmental Head Constable (Electrician) with five years of regular service in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix (₹25,500–81,100) shall be considered along with outsiders.

If a departmental candidate is selected for appointment to the post, the post shall be deemed to have been filled by promotion.

2. Assistant Sub Inspector (Air Conditioner Plant Technician)

Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-5, ₹29,200–92,300

Eligibility

Candidates should be Officers of Central Armed Police Forces or Central Government/State Government/Union Territories who satisfy the prescribed conditions.

The candidate should:

Hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
Have five years of regular service in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix (₹25,500–81,100) in the parent cadre or department; and
Possess:
- 12th Class passed from a recognized Board; and
- Diploma course of minimum one year in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning from an institution recognized by the Central Government, State Government or a private institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government; and
- Minimum five years’ experience as Electrician in a minimum hundred-bedded hospital or institute recognized by the Central Government, any State Government or Force Hospital.

The candidate shall be medically fit in all respects.

Departmental Candidates

A departmental Head Constable (Air Conditioner Plant Technician) with five years of regular service in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix (₹25,500–81,100) shall be considered along with outsiders.

If selected, the departmental candidate shall be considered for appointment through promotion.

3. Head Constable (Dresser)

Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-4, ₹25,500–81,100

Eligibility

Candidates should be Officers of Central Armed Police Forces or Central Government/State Government/Union Territories who satisfy the prescribed conditions.

The candidate should:

Hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
Have five years of regular service in Level-3 of the Pay Matrix (₹21,700–69,100) in the parent cadre or department; and
Possess:
- 10th Class passed from a recognized Board; and
- First Aid Certificate from St. John Ambulance Organization or Red Cross Society of India; and
- Minimum five years’ experience in bandage and dressing of wounds in a minimum fifty-bedded hospital or institution recognized by the Central Government or any State Government.

The candidate shall be medically fit in all respects.

Departmental Candidates

The notification provides for consideration of departmental candidates meeting the prescribed service conditions along with outsiders.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Preference will be given to candidates holding a certificate or diploma in the relevant trade from a recognized institute.

The departmental officials in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment by deputation.

Deputation Period

The period of deputation, including any period of deputation in another ex-cadre post immediately preceding this appointment in the same or another organization or Department of the Central Government, shall ordinarily not exceed three years.

Important Conditions

During deputation, selected candidates will be governed by the provisions contained in the relevant Government of India rules and BSF/MHA instructions.
Candidates selected for these posts will be governed by the applicable provisions relating to deputation.
Deputationists will not have any right to claim seniority, pay and allowances in the parent cadre merely because they have served in the deputation post.
No deputationist shall be eligible for absorption in the BSF Medical Set-Up unless specifically permitted under the applicable rules.
If the selected candidate is unable to continue due to unsuitability, indiscipline, exigency of service or other unforeseen factors, the services may be returned to the parent organization.
Candidates should be willing to serve anywhere in India.
The posts are required to be filled up urgently.
The concerned cadre controlling authorities should forward nominations only after verifying the candidate’s eligibility and service records.
