CTET February 2026 Notification – Apply Online for Central Teacher Eligibility Test

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), February 2026 on its official website — https://ctet.nic.in.

The 21st edition of CTET will be held on 08th February 2026 across 132 cities in 20 languages. Candidates aspiring to become teachers in government or private schools must qualify for the CTET exam.

Eligibility Criteria for CTET February 2026

The minimum educational qualifications are as notified by NCTE. Candidates should visit https://ncte.gov.in for complete eligibility details.

For Classes I – V (Primary Stage)

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks and 2-year D.El.Ed. (final year appearing also eligible)
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 45% marks and 2-year D.El.Ed. (as per NCTE 2002 norms)
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed.
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Special Education
    OR
  • Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed. (must complete NCTE-recognized 6-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education within 2 years of appointment)

For Classes VI – VIII (Elementary Stage)

  • Graduation with 2-year D.El.Ed. (final year appearing eligible)
    OR
  • Graduation with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed.
    OR
  • Graduation with 45% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (as per NCTE norms)
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed.
    OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
    OR
  • Graduation with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
    OR
  • Candidates pursuing any NCTE-recognized teacher education course are also eligible to appear in CTET.

  4. Upload scanned copies of your photo, signature, and required documents.
  5. Pay the application fee as per your category.
  6. Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.
