IGNOU B.Ed Admission 2026: Apply Online for Entrance Test

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has released the official notification for admission into the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme for the January 2026 academic session. Admission to the programme will be done through an Entrance Test, which will be conducted across various centres all over the country.

The minimum duration of the B.Ed. programme is two years, while the maximum duration allowed for completion is five years.

Interested and eligible candidates can submit their online application for IGNOU B.Ed Admission 2026 through the official application portal starting from 29th January 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU B.Ed Admission 2026

Age Limit

There is no age bar for admission into IGNOU B.Ed Programme.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

At least 50% marks in Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Sciences / Social Sciences / Commerce / Humanities,
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks, or any equivalent qualification.

Additional Eligibility Conditions

Candidates must belong to any one of the following categories:

Trained in-service teachers in elementary education
Candidates who have completed an NCTE-recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode

Entrance Test

Candidates must qualify the IGNOU B.Ed. Entrance Test conducted by IGNOU.

Note:
Candidates who have completed D.El.Ed. simultaneously with Graduation or Master’s degree through any combination of modes are not eligible for admission to IGNOU’s B.Ed. Programme.

Click on the New Registration link.
Register by entering your name, mobile number, and password.
Verify your mobile number through OTP.
Log in using your registered mobile number and password.
Fill in all required personal and educational details.
Pay the examination fee and submit the application form.
Take a printout of the submitted application for future reference.
