About Mizoram TET 2026
The Mizoram Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) is conducted by the Mizoram Board of School Education to determine eligibility for teaching positions in Classes I to VIII.
As per the Right to Education (RTE) Act, qualifying TET is mandatory for teacher recruitment. However, passing MTET does not guarantee a job, it is only an eligibility criterion.

Eligibility Criteria
For Primary Teacher (Classes I–V)
Candidates must have:
- Senior Secondary (50% marks) + D.El.Ed
OR - Senior Secondary (45% marks) + D.El.Ed (as per NCTE norms)
OR - Senior Secondary (50%) + B.El.Ed
OR - Senior Secondary (50%) + Diploma in Special Education
For Upper Primary Teacher (Classes VI–VIII)
Candidates must have:
- Graduation + D.El.Ed
OR - Graduation (50%) + B.Ed
OR - Graduation (45%) + B.Ed (NCTE norms)
OR - Senior Secondary (50%) + B.El.Ed / Integrated B.Ed
OR - Post Graduation (55%) + Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed
Relaxation of 5% marks is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.
