The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, through the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), has invited online application for the Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, and Top Class Scholarships for differently abled students for the academic year 2025–26. Interested and eligible students may apply via National Scholarship Portal (NSP) www.scholarships.gov.in.
The Department of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India is implementing three scholarships for students with disabilities through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP): www.scholarships.gov.in
a) Pre-matric scholarships for Class IX and X
b) Post-matric scholarships for Class XI to Post-graduation
c) Scholarship for Top Class Education (For Graduate and Post-Graduate Degree/Diploma in notified institutes of excellence in education)
Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship for Differently Abled Students
- All the 3 components of scholarships are open to students with benchmark disability i.e., 40% or more disability and having a valid certificate of disability issued by the competent authority / UDID card with 40% or above disability.
- Annual parental income:
- For Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship will be granted to differently abled students whose parental/Guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum.
The income certificate should be obtained only from the Circle Officer of respective Revenue Circle. - For Top Class Scholarship will be granted to differently abled students whose parental/Guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 8 lakhs per annum.

- For Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship will be granted to differently abled students whose parental/Guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum.
- Applicants or their parents must link their bank account with AADHAAR number.
(Account number is not required for scholarship disbursement through National Scholarship Portal. Scholarship will be disbursed directly into the AADHAAR seeded bank account of the beneficiary).
How to Apply for Scholarship for Differently Abled Students?
- All the fresh/renewal applicants who are eligible to apply for National scholarship have to do a One Time Registration (OTR) and also face authentication before applying for the scholarship in the National Scholarship Portal through the mobile application “NSPOTR” which is available in the Play Store.
- The students who applied for the scholarship last year have already received a reference id through registered mobile No. to generate One Time Registration (OTR).
- AADHAAR is mandatory for all the applicants. However, for minor applicants who apply without AADHAAR, parents or legal guardian’s AADHAAR is mandatory.
