About SMAM Assam Agricultural Machinery Subsidy
The Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) aims to promote agricultural mechanization in Assam by providing financial assistance for selected agricultural machinery.
Under the current scheme, individual farmers can receive assistance for various agricultural machines, including Power Tillers, Reapers, Threshers, Combine Harvesters, Power Weeders, Brush Cutters and Chaff Cutters.
Financial assistance is also available for Village Level Farm Machinery Banks (VLFMB).

Eligibility and Important Requirements
Interested farmers and Farmer Groups can apply through the DBT portal.
For availing the scheme benefits, Farmer’s ID in Agri-Stack is mandatory for farmers from districts other than Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
For individual farmers, selection will be made through the prescribed online lottery process. Farmer Groups applying for village-level agricultural machinery will be selected by the district-level committee.
The subsidy amount for approved agricultural machinery will be transferred through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to the beneficiary farmer’s bank account.
