Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme: Assam’s Youth To Get Rs.2500/- PM

The Government of Assam has taken a progressive step to empower its youth with the launch of the Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana under the Astadash Mukutar Unnoyonee Mala initiative. Announced as a part of the Assam Budget 2025–2026, this scheme is aimed at providing financial stability and encouragement to young graduates during their job-search period. With an allocation of ₹25 crore, the scheme is scheduled to be launched in October 2025.

Key Highlights of Jibon Prerana Scheme:

Monthly Financial Support: Graduates passing out in 2025 from government universities and colleges in Assam will receive ₹2,500 per month for a duration of up to one year to support them as they seek employment.

One-time Assistance Option: On the recommendation of the District Commissioner (DC), eligible candidates can opt for a one-time financial assistance of ₹25,000 instead of the monthly disbursements.

Support for Research Scholars:

• A one-time grant of ₹25,000 will be provided to research scholars from state and central government universities, regardless of gender.
• Special assistance of ₹50,000 is earmarked for Divyang (differently-abled) research scholars, ensuring inclusivity in academic and research pursuits.

Eligibility Criteria for Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Asoni

Only permanent residents of Assam will be eligible to avail benefits under this scheme, ensuring targeted support for the state’s youth.
