The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 for Admission into Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across India for the academic session 2026–2027.
Sainik Schools are English-medium residential schools affiliated with the CBSE and managed by the Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence. They prepare cadets for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Naval Academy, and other prestigious training institutes for officers.

Reservation of Seats
- 67% of the seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in the State/UT where the Sainik School is located.
- 33% of the seats are reserved for candidates from Other States and Union Territories (UTs).

Eligibility Criteria for AISSEE 2026 Admission
For Class VI
- Age between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2026.
- Date of birth between 01 April 2014 and 31 March 2016 (both days inclusive).
- Girls are eligible for admission in Class VI.
For Class IX
- Age between 13 and 15 years as on 31 March 2026.
- Date of birth between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (both days inclusive).
- Must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school at the time of admission.
- Girls are eligible, subject to availability of seats.
