๐ Overview of APSC JAA Selection Process
It is for information to all concerned that the mode of selection for the post of Jr.A.A. under Establishment of Assam Public Service Commission published vide this office Advertisement No.1/2022 dtd. 01-01-2022 will be as per the following examination pattern/syllabus.
- Screening Test (OMR-based)
- Written Test (Conventional)
- Computer Practical Test
- Interview
Phase-I:
1. Screening Test (OMR-Based)
Considering the large number of candidates, the Commission will conduct a screening test in OMR based Multiple Choice Questions to shortlist the number of candidates. The subject, syllabus, duration and marks are as follows:

- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 2 hours
- Subjects Covered: GENERAL STUDIES
Syllabus for APSC JAA Screening Test
- Current affairs (India & Assam)
- Assam History, Indian History & National Movement
- Geography (India & Assam)
- Economy of India & Assam
- Indian Polity & Constitution of India
- Numerical Ability
- General Mental Ability
- Sports/Books/Author and Important People of Assam
- Literature, Culture & Festivals of Assam
Phase-II:
2. Written Test (Conventional Type):
On the basis of the performance in the Phase-l, candidates will be called for the written test (Phase-II) The subject, Syllabus, duration and marks are as follows:

Phase-III:
On the basis of the performance in the Phase-II, candidates will be called for the Computer Practical Test and Interview. The details are as follows
3. Computer Practical Test
- Marks: 50
- Duration: 1ยฝ hrs
CPT will covere the following topics:
- MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
- Internet use & browsing, email, file handling, basics of OS, networking, hardware/software, DBMS, cloud computing, shortcuts & typing efficiency
4. Interview (Viva-Voice)
- Marks: 48
- Focuses on evaluating personality, confidence, knowledge, and overall suitability for the administrative assistant role.
โ Final Summary of JAA Selection Process
- Stage I: OMR Screening (100 marks) โ Qualifying
- Stage II: Written (350 marks) โ Descriptive testing
- Stage III: Computer Practical (50 marks) & Interview (48 marks)
- Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in Stage-II & III.
