About ASDMA Recruitment
ASDMA has invited applications for the contractual engagement of District Project Officers (DPOs) under the District Disaster Management Authorities of Bajali and Tamulpur.

The engagement will initially be for one year and may be extended subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds. The selected candidates will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Commissioner and assist the district administration in disaster management activities.
The candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam.

Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the District Project Officer post must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as a full-time paid employee in an organization of repute dealing with Disaster Management in Government/Semi-Government/Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Body.
- Proficiency in computer applications is essential, particularly MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Assamese.
- For the Tamulpur posting, knowledge of Bodo language will be preferable.
- The candidate should be physically and mentally fit to work in disaster situations.
Age Limit
The candidate’s age should be:
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 43 years
The age will be calculated as on 1 January 2026.

Roles and Responsibilities
The District Project Officer will perform various duties related to disaster management at the district level, including:
- Facilitating the preparation of multi-hazard Disaster Management Plans for districts, blocks, GPs and villages.
- Supporting the district administration in Community Based Disaster Preparedness (CBDP) activities.
- Assisting in awareness campaigns and disaster preparedness programmes.
- Supporting training and capacity-building programmes for government officials, PRIs, NGOs, CBOs, youth clubs, SHGs, teachers and others.
- Facilitating Community Based Disaster Preparedness exercises.
- Coordinating training programmes for disaster management task forces.
- Establishing coordination with Civil Society Response Groups.
- Networking with NGOs, CBOs, NCC, NSS and other organizations working in disaster management.
- Assisting the Deputy Commissioner in disaster management activities.
- Helping the district administration organize mock drills.
- Facilitating an effective communication system for early tracking and dissemination of warnings.
- Supporting the establishment of control rooms at district and block levels.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria. The shortlisted candidates may be required to appear for:

Other Terms and Conditions
The selected candidate may be required to serve at a location other than the initial place of engagement and may be transferred to another location or office as required.
The candidate may also be required to travel in connection with official duties. Official travel outside the duty station will be governed by the applicable ASDMA rules.
The selected candidate will generally follow the working hours applicable to Government of Assam employees and may be required to work beyond official timings due to exigencies.
The selected candidate will be entitled to 12 days of Casual Leave and other leave as per the applicable Assam Leave Rules.
