About Bajali GIS Assistant Recruitment 2026

The Office of the District Commissioner, Bajali is recruiting 2 GIS Assistants, one for each Revenue Circle of the district. The engagement will initially be for up to 12 months, subject to extension by the Government based on project requirements.

The selected candidates will work on GIS mapping, geospatial data digitization, quality assurance, drone data interpretation, report preparation, and other GIS-related technical assignments.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

Essential Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Geo-Informatics, Physics, Computer Science, or any related discipline with Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geo-Informatics.

M.Tech / M.Sc. in GIS & Remote Sensing / Geo-Informatics.

MCA / MA / M.Sc. in Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Environmental Science with GIS/Geo-Informatics as one of the subjects or possessing Certificate/Diploma in GIS / Remote Sensing / Geo-Informatics.

Desirable Qualification

Candidates having the following skills will be preferred:

Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper or similar GIS software.
Knowledge of spatial data formats like Shape Files, GeoJSON and KML.
Experience in geospatial analysis and drone survey.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently.
Prior GIS-related work experience or internship.

Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having minimum 2 years of relevant GIS work experience.
Preference will also be given to RCCC trained candidates possessing the required educational qualifications with command over GIS.

Candidates should also have fluency in Assamese, Hindi and English.

Age Limit

Candidates must satisfy the following age criteria as on 01 January 2026:

Minimum Age: 21 Years
Maximum Age: 45 Years

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a fixed remuneration of ₹25,000/- per month.

Job Responsibilities

The selected GIS Assistants will perform the following tasks:

Digitization of cadastral and non-cadastral geospatial data.
GIS data quality assurance and validation.
Preparation of GIS reports, presentations and data visualization.
Support GIS-related documentation and workflows.
Provide GIS technical support to team members.
Drone photography and HRSI interpretation.
Stay updated with GIS technologies and best practices.
