DME Assam Recruitment 2026 – 10 Professor Vacancy, Walk-in Interview

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has announced a Walk-in Interview for engagement of Professor on contractual basis for Government Nursing Colleges of Assam under the Medical Education & Research (ME&R) Department.

The latest notice has been issued in cancellation of the earlier Advertisement No. DME/763793/3 dated 21 August 2026 and Corrigendum No. DME/763793/4 dated 24 August 2026.

Eligible candidates with the required M.Sc. (Nursing) qualification and teaching experience can attend the Walk-in Interview on 31 August 2026 at the Office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati.

DME Assam Professor Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Professor positions must possess:

M.Sc. (Nursing)

Experience

Candidates must have:

A total of 12 years of experience with M.Sc. (Nursing); and
Out of this, 10 years of teaching experience after M.Sc. (Nursing).

Ph.D. (Nursing) is desirable.

Candidates should carefully check the detailed official notification and prescribed format for any additional post-specific requirements.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 50 years as on 01 January 2026.

Age Relaxation

The upper age limit is relaxable as follows:

SC/ST: 5 years
OBC/MOBC: 3 years
Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years, irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and General category

The OBC/MOBC relaxation is applicable as per Government Notification No. ABP.6/2016/9 dated 25 April 2018.

The PWD relaxation is applicable as per Government Notification No. ABP.144/95/121 dated 28 October 2015.

The age of candidates will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council. No other document will be accepted in lieu of these documents.

Salary

Selected candidates engaged as Professor on contractual basis will receive a consolidated remuneration of:

₹95,000/- per month

Employment Exchange of Assam

After completing the application form, candidates should attend the Walk-in Interview on 31 August 2026 from 10:00 AM onwards at the specified venue.

Candidates must bring all original certificates/documents related to qualification, experience, age and identity, along with two passport-size coloured photographs and a set of self-attested copies.
