About IIT Guwahati Recruitment 2026

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is inviting online applications for Junior Engineer (Trainee) posts under the Infrastructure Planning and Management (IPM) Section. The engagement will initially be for 11 months and may be extended based on satisfactory performance and institute requirements.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

Three-year Diploma in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute
Minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA
Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience

Important Note

Candidates possessing higher qualifications such as B.E. / B.Tech are not eligible to apply.

Required Experience

Civil Engineering

Candidates should have experience in:

Building maintenance
Preparation of technical estimates
Tender preparation
Concrete works
Site-related civil engineering activities

Electrical Engineering

Candidates should have experience in:

HT/LT substation maintenance
DG (Diesel Generator) maintenance

Mechanical Engineering

Candidates should have experience in:

Maintenance of air conditioning systems

Age Limit

Maximum age: 28 years as on the last date of application submission.
