The Office of the District Commissioner, Kamrup, Amingaon has released an advertisement for the engagement of 55 Gaon Pradhan in various villages under different Revenue Circles of Kamrup District. Eligible Indian citizens who fulfil the prescribed conditions may submit their applications in the prescribed Standard Form of Application (Part IX of the Assam Gazette).

The application process will continue up to 20 August 2026 during office hours.

Selected candidates appointed as Gaon Pradhan will receive a monthly remuneration of:

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The candidate must be at least 30 years of age as on 1 January 2026.

The age of the applicant will be determined on the basis of a Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority or the HSLC Admit Card/Certificate issued by a recognised Board or Council. No other document will be accepted as proof of age.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed at least Class 10th/HSLC from a Board or Institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government.

Other Eligibility Conditions

Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:

The candidate must be a citizen of India.
The candidate must be a permanent resident of the village/area for which he or she is applying.
The candidate must be physically fit and of sound mind.
The candidate must not have been declared insolvent or be a defaulter in the payment of Government dues.
The candidate must submit a Bakijai Clearance Certificate.
The candidate must not be a Government employee.
The candidate must not be a member of any political party.
The candidate must have land or immovable property in his/her own name in the village for which he/she is applying.
Preference will be given to family members of Gaon Pradhan.
The views of the concerned Mouzadar will also be taken into consideration.
The candidate should have a respectable position and command in society.
The candidate must not have more than two living children from a single or multiple partners.
The applicant must submit a self-affidavit regarding compliance with the Small Family Norms.

Documents Required

Candidates must submit self-attested copies of the following documents along with the application:

Educational Qualification Certificate and Mark Sheet.
HSLC Admit Card/Certificate.
Birth Certificate or other prescribed age proof.
Three recent passport-size colour photographs measuring 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm with a white background.
PAN Card.
Voter ID Card.
Small Family Norms Affidavit/Self-Declaration.
Jamabandi in the name of the applicant or his/her parents in the concerned village.
Mouzadar Certificate confirming that the applicant belongs to the village concerned.
Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC).
Self-declaration stating that the applicant is not a member of any political party and is not a Government employee.
Bakijai Clearance Certificate.
Caste Certificate, if applicable.

How to Apply for Kamrup Gaon Pradhan Vacancy 2026?

Eligible candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed Standard Form of Application – Part IX of the Assam Gazette.

The duly filled application form along with all required documents must be submitted in the Application Receiving Box kept at the Land Revenue Branch of the Integrated District Commissioner Office, Kamrup, Amingaon (1st Floor).

Selection Process

Eligible candidates will be called for a Viva Voce Interview.

The date and venue of the interview will be notified later through the concerned Circle Offices, Mouzadar Offices and the official website of the District Commissioner, Kamrup.

Candidates must bring their original testimonials along with photocopies at the time of the interview.

The candidates securing the highest marks in the Viva Voce Interview will be selected for the post of Gaon Pradhan for the concerned village. The appointment will be made after completion of the required police verification process.
