Northeast Frontier Railway Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 6777 Apprentice Posts

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released a centralized notification for the engagement of 6777 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the training sessions 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.

Eligible ITI and 10th pass candidates can apply online through the official NFR website from 20 July 2026. Selection will be based purely on academic merit without any written examination.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

For Most Trades

• Passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or equivalent examination with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
• Must possess an ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in the relevant trade.

Note: The minimum 50% marks in Matriculation are not applicable for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

For Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology & Radiology)

Candidates must have:

• Passed Class 10 with minimum 50% marks.
• Passed 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry & Biology and minimum 50% marks.

Age Limit

As on 19 August 2026

• Minimum Age: 15 Years
• Maximum Age: 24 Years

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 Years
• OBC: 3 Years
• PwBD: 10 Years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government rules

Selection Process

No written examination will be conducted.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of:

• Merit prepared from the average percentage of marks obtained in:
  • Matriculation
  • ITI Examination

For Medical Laboratory Technician trades, merit will be based on:

• Class 10 marks
• Class 12 Science (PCB) marks

In case of equal marks:

1. Older candidate will be given preference.
2. If age is also same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be preferred.

Application Fee

The fee is payable online only.

Monthly Stipend

Selected apprentices will receive stipend as per the Apprentices Act.

Current minimum stipend:

• First Year: ₹9,600 per month
• Second Year (where applicable): ₹10,560 per month
• Third Year (where applicable): ₹11,040 per month
