Assam ST Scholarship 2025: The Directorate of Tribal Affairs (Plain), Assam invites online application from the students belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) community of Assam through National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for both Fresh and Renewal for the for Pre-Matric (Class IX & X) and Post-Matric scholarships.

It is for information of all concerned that fresh / renewal applications for Pre-Matric (Class IX & X) and Post-Matric scholarships for students of Assam belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) are invited for the academic year 2025-26 through National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at www.scholarships.gov.in. Applications will be entertained through online portal only for students studying in Govt. / Govt. aided Govt. recognized School / Higher Secondary schools / Colleges / University including Medical/Technical Institutions having valid U-DISE / AISHE / NCVT code only. The timeline for submission of applications are given below:

How to Apply for ST Scholarship 2025

Students while applying for scholarships for the above 2 (two) schemes are hereby requested to register themselves in NSP through the app “NSP OTR” available in Google play store and perform Face-authentication for generating One Time Registration (OTR) number which has been made mandatory for applying for scholarship in NSP.
Aadhaar and mobile number registered with Aadhaar are mandatory for generating OTR. (Details available at scholarships.gov.in).
Students while filling up the online application form should upload digital income certificate of their parents/guardians which has been issued by the concerned Circle/Revenue Officer only.
Students should also upload Digital Caste certificate issued by office of the District Commissioner of their respective Districts. If the applicant name/surname in the application form differs in the Caste certificate, he/she should submit an affidavit duly notarized justifying the differences.
Students should have a valid Bank account which should be seeded with their respective Aadhaar as scholarships will be credited into Aadhaar Seeded Bank Account of the students only.

Important Instructions for Applicants:

Documents to be Uploaded:
- Recent passport-size photograph of the student.
- Bonafide certificate from the institution of study.
- Previous year’s mark sheet (for renewal cases).
- Digital Income Certificate from Revenue Circle Officer.
- Digital Caste Certificate issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
- Aadhaar card of the student.
- Bank passbook showing account details (student’s name, account number, IFSC code, etc.).
- OTR (One Time Registration) number proof from NSP OTR App.
Eligibility Criteria in Detail:
- The student must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Should belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.
- Must be studying in a recognized institution (as specified: Govt./Govt. aided/recognized private institutions with valid codes).
- Family’s annual income should not exceed ₹2.50 lakh.
- The student must not be receiving any other scholarship for the same course.
Renewal of Scholarship:
- Students who have availed the scholarship in the previous year must apply as a renewal case.
- Renewal candidates must upload the previous year’s mark sheet indicating promotion to the next class.
