2. Postgraduate (PG) and Ph.D. Programmes

AAU offers Master’s and Doctoral degrees in various specialized departments including Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, and the highly sought-after MBA (Agri-Business) and M.Tech in Food Processing Technology.

AAU Admission 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the university’s specific requirements.

  • Age Limit: For UG programmes, candidates must be at least 16 years of age as of August 1, 2026 (born before 01-08-2010).
  • Educational Qualification (UG): Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) or Agriculture (PCAg/BCAg).
  • Minimum Marks:
    • General/OBC/UPS Category: 50% aggregate marks in 10+2.
    • SC/ST/DAC Category: 40% aggregate marks in 10+2.
  • Residence: Applicants must hold a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam, except for specific Higher Fee Category (HFC) or NRI quotas.

The Selection Process: CET-UG-AAU26

Admission to all undergraduate programmes for 2026 is based strictly on merit judged through the Common Entrance Test (CET-UG-AAU26).

  • Exam Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • Duration: 2 Hours.
  • Format: 160 Multiple Choice Questions (40 each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology).
  • PG/Ph.D. Selection: Selection for Master’s and Ph.D. programmes is primarily based on NTA scores from ICAR’s AIEEA (PG) and AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.) for the 2026-27 session.

How to Apply for AAU Admission 2026

The entire application process is conducted online through the official portal: www.admission.aau.ac.in.

Step 1: Registration

Provide a valid email ID and mobile number. You will receive credentials and a verification link to complete the registration.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

Enter personal and academic details and upload the required documents. Note: Once finalized, data cannot be changed, so double-check all entries.

Step 3: Document Upload

Have the following scanned files ready (PDF format, max 150KB; JPEG for photos, max 100KB):

  • Passport photograph and signature.
  • Mark sheets from Class X onwards.
  • Birth Certificate or Class X Admit Card (Age Proof).
  • Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC).
  • Medical Fitness Certificate (in AAU prescribed format).

Step 4: Payment of Fee

Pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1500.00 via the integrated online payment gateway.

Important Dates

The last date and time for submission of the application form and payment of the application fee is 4:00 P.M. on June 10, 2026.

Fee Structure and Scholarships

  • Semester Fees: For general category UG students, the total fee for the 1st semester is approximately Rs. 25,120.00.
  • Scholarships: AAU provides State Merit Scholarships at Rs. 1,500/month for UG and Rs. 2,000/month for PG students (limited to Assam domiciles).
  • Higher Fee Category (HFC): A specific number of seats are available for candidates who do not meet the statutory reservation but are willing to pay higher fees.
