Indian Air Force AFCAT Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for 340 Flying & Ground Duty Branches

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the official employment notification for the AFCAT (02/2026) recruitment to fill vacancies in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches, along with NCC Special Entry/ GATE Score Entry for courses commencing in July 2027.

1. AFCAT Entry

Eligibility Criteria of Indian Air Force AFCAT Recruitment 2026

Age Limit

Branch	Age Limit (as on 01 January 2027)
Flying Branch	20 to 24 years (Born between 01 July 2003 to 01 July 2007)
(Relaxation up to 26 years for candidates holding valid DGCA Commercial Pilot License)
Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical)	20 to 26 years (Born between 01 July 2001 to 01 July 2007)

Marital Status

Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.
Marriage is not permitted during training.

Educational Qualification

(i) Flying Branch

Minimum 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level, and
- Graduation (3 years) in any discipline with minimum 60% marks, OR
- BE/B.Tech (4 years) with minimum 60% marks, OR
- Section A & B of AMIE or Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks.

(ii) Ground Duty (Technical) Branch

(a) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) – AE (L)

Minimum 50% marks each in Physics & Maths at 10+2 level and
Minimum 60% marks in a 4-year Engineering/Technology degree in relevant disciplines such as:
Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Communication, Information Technology, Robotics, Cyber Security, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, etc.

(b) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) – AE (M)

Minimum 50% marks each in Physics & Maths at 10+2 level and
Minimum 60% marks in Engineering/Technology degree in relevant Mechanical or allied fields such as:
Aeronautical, Mechanical, Industrial, Production, Power, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Aerospace, etc.

(iii) Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches

Weapon Systems (WS)	Graduation (3 years) or BE/B.Tech with 60% marks and 50% marks each in Physics & Maths at 10+2 level.
Administration & Logistics	Graduate degree in any discipline with 60% marks or equivalent.
Accounts Branch	B.Com / BBA (Finance) / BMS (Finance) / CA / CMA / CS / CFA / B.Sc. (Finance) with 60% marks.
Education	Post-Graduation with 50% marks and Graduation with 60% marks.
Meteorology	B.Sc. with Physics & Maths or Engineering degree in related discipline with 60% marks.
