About AEGCL Recruitment 2026

AEGCL is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the post of Consultant for Environmental Safeguard under the AIIB-funded Assam Intra-State Transmission System Enhancement Project (AISTSEP). The consultant will be responsible for implementing and monitoring environmental safeguard measures in accordance with AIIB’s Environmental and Social Framework and Government regulations.

The appointment is purely contractual and initially for four years, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and satisfactory performance.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

• Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines:
  • Environmental Science
  • Ecology
  • Forestry
  • Environmental Management

Desirable Qualification:

• Additional Diploma in Health & Safety.

Experience Required

Applicants should have:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in power sector projects.
• Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) experience will be preferred.
• Experience of working in at least one Externally Aided Project (EAP).
• Good knowledge of:
  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • MS PowerPoint
  • GIS
  • Google Earth
  • Other related software/applications.

Language Requirement

• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Knowledge of the local language will be preferred.

Age Limit

As on 01 June 2026:

• Minimum Age: 25 Years
• Maximum Age: 50 Years

Salary

Selected candidates will receive:

• ₹60,000/- per month (Consolidated)

Annual Increment

• Eligible for 5% annual increment over the last remuneration drawn, subject to satisfactory performance and approval by AEGCL.

Contract Period

• Initial appointment will be for 4 years.
• The tenure may be extended for an additional 2 years or till completion of the project, whichever is later, based on satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

The selected consultant will be responsible for:

• Monitoring implementation of Environmental & Social Management Plans (ESMP).
• Reviewing ESIA, CESMP, EMP and other environmental reports.
• Conducting site inspections and monitoring environmental compliance.
• Coordinating with Project Management Consultants (PMC), EPC Contractors and AIIB.
• Supervising Environmental Quality Monitoring Tests (Air, Water, Noise & Soil).
• Managing Environmental safeguard documentation.
• Monitoring Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM).
• Coordinating environmental clearance and statutory compliance.
• Supporting AIIB missions and project implementation activities.

• Demand Draft in favour of Managing Director, AEGCL.
