Eligibility Criteria

Anganwadi Worker

Candidates applying for the Anganwadi Worker post should have passed the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination from a board recognised by the Government of Assam.

If no HSSLC-qualified candidate is available, applications from candidates who have passed HSLC/AHM may be considered as per the notification.

Anganwadi Helper

For the Anganwadi Helper post, candidates should have passed HSLC/AHM from a board recognised by the Government of Assam.

If an HSLC/AHM-qualified candidate is not available, candidates who have passed Class IX may be considered. In such cases, the educational qualification certificate issued by the Headmaster/Headmistress must have the required Countersignature of the Inspector of Schools.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 18 and 44 years of age as on 1 January 2026.

Local Resident Requirement

The applicant must be a local woman residing within the survey area of the concerned Anganwadi Centre.

A permanent resident certificate must be submitted along with the application. The certificate should be signed by the concerned Gaon Pradhan, Ward Member or Gaon Panchayat President, as applicable.

For married candidates, the husband’s address will generally be considered instead of the parental address. This condition does not apply to widows or women abandoned by their husbands.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their marks obtained in HSSLC/HSLC examinations and an oral interview, following the applicable government rules and selection guidelines.

The list of eligible candidates for the oral interview and the interview date will be displayed on the notice board of the Office of the Child Development Project Officer.

No individual Call Letter will be issued to candidates.

Selected candidates will also have to submit written consent within the prescribed period confirming their willingness to provide voluntary service.

Documents Required

Candidates should attach self-attested copies of the required documents with the application form, including:

  • Educational qualification certificate
  • Mark sheet
  • Caste certificate, wherever applicable
  • Disability certificate, wherever applicable
  • Permanent residential certificate
  • Medical fitness certificate from a recognised Government medical practitioner
  • Two recent passport-size colour photographs
  • Other applicable supporting documents

Candidates will have to produce the original documents before the selection committee at the time of the interview.

The application should clearly mention the name of the post applied for and the name of the applicant. The completed application should be placed in a sealed envelope and deposited in the designated box at the office.

Remuneration

The Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers will receive the monthly honorarium/remuneration as fixed by the Government from time to time.
