About IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery Apprentice Recruitment
Indian Oil Corporation Limited has invited online applications from eligible candidates for apprenticeship training at its Bongaigaon Refinery under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, as amended.
The recruitment is being conducted as part of IOCL’s skill-building initiative. Candidates will be selected based on their marks in the prescribed qualifying examination. There will be no written examination.

Educational Qualification
For Code 101 – Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant)
Candidates must have passed B.Sc. with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute as a regular full-time course.
For Code 103 – Boiler (Mechanical)
Candidates must have passed B.Sc. with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute as a regular full-time course.
For Code 107 – Technician Apprentice (Instrumentation)
Candidates must have a Diploma in any of the following relevant disciplines:
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Instrumentation & Electronics Engineering
- Instrumentation & Control Engineering
- Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
The qualification must be from a recognized University/Institute and obtained through a regular full-time course.
Minimum Marks
Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate in the prescribed qualification.
For SC/ST and PwBD candidates applying against reserved seats, the minimum qualifying marks are 45%.
Candidates with qualifications obtained through part-time, correspondence or distance education are not eligible.
Age Limit
The candidate’s age must be between 18 and 24 years as on 30 September 2026.

The Class 10/Matriculation certificate will be accepted as proof of date of birth.
Important Eligibility Conditions
Candidates should carefully note the following conditions:
- The prescribed qualification must have been completed by 30 September 2026.
- Candidates whose qualifying examination result is awaited are not eligible.
- Only the specified qualification/discipline will be accepted.
- Candidates holding higher professional qualifications such as BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB or MCA are not eligible.
- Candidates who have completed five years after obtaining the prescribed qualification are not eligible.
- Engineering graduates, diploma holders or vocational certificate holders with one year or more of job experience after obtaining the qualification are not eligible.
- A candidate with B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry can apply for only one of Code 101 or Code 103.
- Candidates applying for more than one trade/discipline will have their applications rejected.
- Preference will be given to candidates undergoing apprenticeship training for the first time.
Stipend
The monthly stipend will be paid as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules, 1992, as amended, and IOCL’s applicable guidelines.
The notification does not specify a fixed monthly stipend amount.
Selected apprentices will also be provided with safety shoes and a helmet, wherever applicable. No company accommodation or HRA will be provided.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on merit.
There will be no written examination.
The merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination. The aggregate marks of all subjects and all years/semesters will be considered.
In case of a tie, the candidate who is senior in age will be ranked higher. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with higher Class 10 marks will be considered higher in the merit list.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and pre-engagement medical examination.
Document Verification
Candidates shortlisted for document verification must bring the original documents along with self-attested copies, including:
- Class 10/Matriculation certificate
- Class 12 marksheet
- Graduation/Diploma semester-wise or year-wise marksheets
- Graduation/Diploma certificate
- CGPA/OGPA conversion certificate, where applicable
- Certificate mentioning the date of publication of result, where applicable
- SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PwBD certificate, where applicable
- NATS/NAPS registration details
- Required affidavit as per Annexure-A
- Valid photo ID proof
How to Apply
Eligible candidates must complete both Step I and Step II of the application process.
Step I – NAPS/NATS Registration and Application
For Code 101 and Code 103:
Candidates must register on the NAPS portal and apply for the relevant apprenticeship opportunity of Bongaigaon Refinery.
For Code 107:
Candidates must register on the NATS portal and apply for the IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery opportunity available on their dashboard.
