1. Consultant (Fishing) – 1 Post

Oil India Limited intends to engage 01 Consultant (Fishing) on contract basis for Field Headquarters, OIL, Duliajan.

The initial contract period will be six months, which may be extended through three further six-month tenures, subject to the company’s requirement and the candidate’s performance, fitness and conduct. The maximum engagement period is two years.

Consultant (Fishing) – Vacancy Details

Consultant (Fishing) Eligibility

Candidates should possess at least a Graduate Degree or Diploma in any discipline as a full-time regular course from an institution, college, university or deemed university recognized by AICTE/UGC.

The applicant must have:

• Minimum 25 years of working experience in the upstream oil and gas sector.
• Experience in Government, PSU or private sector on a permanent basis.
• At least 10 years of experience in Well Services/Workover Rigs.
• At least 5 years of dedicated experience in Cased Hole/Well Services Fishing relevant to the advertised responsibilities.
• Retirement from at least the post of Deputy General Manager (Grade F) or equivalent from OIL or another Government/PSU/private organization.
• Working knowledge of company activities, vision, goals and structure.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary activities.
• Physical fitness and willingness to travel frequently within OIL operational areas.
• The applicant must not be more than 63 years of age as on the last date of receipt of application.

Consultant (Fishing) Job Responsibilities

The selected Consultant will be expected to provide technical expertise in fishing operations, including:

• Retrieval of stuck packers.
• Retrieval of bridge plugs.
• Recovery of stuck packers with tubing strings.
• Casing repair.
• Milling operations.
• Recovery of wireline tools.
• Wash-over jobs.
• Fishing operations in cased-hole sections/liners of approximately 4⅝” to 9⅝” sizes.
• Work involving workover rigs of 550–1000 HP capacity.
• Providing technical specifications of suitable fishing tools from a procurement perspective.
• Designing/fabricating fishing tools for unconventional fishing jobs, which will be preferred.
• Other allied duties assigned by the concerned Reporting Officer/HoD.

Consultant (Fishing) Facilities

The consultant will receive a lump-sum monthly honorarium of ₹1,50,000.

During official tours outside the place of posting, travel, boarding, lodging and local conveyance will be provided according to the applicable equivalent consultant grade. A lump-sum daily allowance of ₹1,800 per day will be applicable during domestic official tours.

The consultant will also be entitled to 10 days of paid leave for every six months, on a pro-rata basis. The leave will be non-cumulative and non-encashable.

Contractual Chemist Vacancy Details

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Chemistry of minimum two years duration from a Government of India recognized university/institute.

They must also have at least two years of post-qualification work experience in handling drilling/workover fluids in the E&P industry, particularly drilling and workover wells.

Chemist Job Responsibilities

The Contractual Chemist will be deployed at drilling/workover wells and will be responsible for:

• Preparation and maintenance of drilling mud and workover brine solutions.
• Handling critical well situations such as pipe sticking, mud loss, well kick and blowout.
• Assisting in well cementing operations.
• Gas testing.
• Calculation of mud hydraulics.
• Monitoring lithology of drill cuttings.
• Maintaining adequate stock of drilling and workover fluid chemicals.
• Monitoring safety and pollution-control measures related to chemical activities at well sites.

Experience in handling drilling/workover fluids, laboratory analysis, chemicals used in drilling/workover fluids and downhole complications will be useful for this position.

Chemist Selection Process

Selection will be through a Walk-in Interview of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying mark is 50 marks for all categories.

Candidates will be assessed on professional knowledge and skills, allied-discipline knowledge, personal attributes and soft skills. Final selection will be based on merit among candidates securing at least 50 marks.

Mechanical Supervisor Details

The candidate must have passed Class 10 from a recognized education board and possess a three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute. At least two years of relevant post-qualification work experience in Government, Semi-Government, PSU, Public Limited or private organizations is required.

Job Responsibilities

The Mechanical Supervisor will handle activities associated with the tank farm, including crude oil filling, processing and handling of emulsion treaters, crude transfer networks and operation/maintenance of motor-operated and remote-operated shut-off valves.

The position will also involve operation and maintenance of pumps, formation-water disposal systems, chemical dosing systems and ETP-related activities.

4. Contractual Instrumentation Technician – 1 Post

OIL has announced one Contractual Instrumentation Technician position.
