Educational Qualification
- Superintending Research Scientist: Ph.D. in Chemistry with M.Sc. Chemistry (minimum 2 years, 60% marks), OR Ph.D. in Geology with Master’s in Geology/Applied Geology (minimum 2 years, 60% marks), OR Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with Master’s in Chemical Engineering (minimum 2 years, 60% marks), OR Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering with Master’s in Petroleum Engineering (minimum 2 years, 60% marks). AND minimum 4 years of post qualification relevant work experience.
- Senior Officer (Mechanical): Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering of minimum 4 years duration with minimum 65% marks (excluding Automation, Automobile, Industrial, Power, Manufacturing, Production, Mechatronics, Mining, Marine, Robotics Engineering etc.).
- Senior Officer (Petroleum): Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering/Technology of minimum 2 years duration with minimum 60% marks, with Engineering at graduation level.
- Senior Accounts Officer / Senior Internal Auditor: Candidates must be an Associate Member of ICAI / ICMAI.
- Hindi Officer (Official Language): Post Graduate degree in Hindi AND minimum 3 years of post qualification relevant work experience.
- Confidential Secretary: Graduate with a 1/2 year Diploma in Secretarial Practice or Modern Office Management / Secretarial Practice or Executive Assistant Diploma or equivalent, with knowledge of computer application, AND minimum 2 years of post qualification experience.

Selection Process
- Grade B and Grade C: Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Personal Interview.
- Grade A: Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Proficiency Test / Skill Test.
- Medical Examination: Appointment is subject to medical fitness as per OIL standards. Candidates must undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) at OIL Hospital, Duliajan, Assam, or through an authorised medical officer as specified.
